you have this poll we have been showing throughout the day. most electable. mitt romney. i don't think it's a major surprise. 48%. gingrich is 13% and ron paul with 12%. that led me to what he had to say about whether or not he is a friend candidate or appealing to young people with great we will have, but don't have a handle on what it takes to win a general election. >> i always say i'm mainstream. people who are attacking me now on the ones who can't defend their roars and are all over the place. >> what in his resume proves he is mainstream? you may like him, but to call him main strem? >> that's his take on who he is. we should remember one day before the iowa caucuses that they don't decide the nomination. there is a lot of focus on who it will be in iowa and that doesn't translate into who the nominee is. all this excitement and we will see how much there is. sometimes the excitement translated and in the case of mike huckabee. i remember howard dean very well. before we get carried away, we have to see what happens. we got his quirks. he is awe theuthentic and tha

the poll shows romney has a lead over gingrich. patricia thanks for joining us. >> you're welcome. >> your paper released a poll of its own showing romney with an 11-point lead over gingrich. do the numbers signal that romney is definitely headed for a win in florida? >> romney appears to be if safe bet. we had polls show a margin of five points to one of 20 points. they all seem to differ on what the margin will be, but they say it looks like romney will be the winner tomorrow. >> early voting has started. already 600,000 people casting their ballots. what does this tell you about the election this time around? >> well, the republicans are saying that it shows a lot of excitement and enthusiasm from their base to vote now and more importantly in november. voters in florida are very pragmatic. they will be looking for who they think can defeat president obama in the general election. >> herman cane has endorsed newt gingrich. even sarah palin came out. >> annoy a liberal, vote newt. keep this process going. keep the debate going. >

the poll numbers are narrowing and governor romney is passing him in some polls and tightening up very closely. this is nothing more than a referendum on president obama's administration and the fact that he has nothing more than a record of broken promises in the white house and people want someone who is going to help create jobs and turn the economy around. when he is done he has done nothing more than make it difficult for job creators to create jobs. as we move further to each key state we are going to see that people trust governor romney to turn the economy around more than the president. >> what do you think is going to be the difference in ohio for the president? what will he have to do to win that state? >> i think organization is key. i think if you talk to organizers they'll tell you the president's campaign is far and away better organized than the romney campaign. gotv matters. i don't think ohio is going to want to elect someone who has a record of 47th in job creation in massachusetts and flipping companies and laying off workers and saddling those companies with debt.
